Disclaimer: This is another post that I don't actually expect anyone to care about. But, I want to remember this time in my life as much as possible. I've always been the kind of person who loves schedule and routine. That said, here is a look at what a typical day looks like here in nannyland.
4:40 am- Wake up, feed Bella.
4:45- Charlotte brings Colt to me, and we cuddle up on the couch and go back to sleep.
7:30- Charlotte returns from formation and PT, and Colt and I usually wake up when she comes in.
7:30-8:00- I change Colt's diaper and get him dressed for the day, while Charlotte pumps his morning bottle and makes breakfast.
8:00- We all hang out in the living room and eat our Power Oatmeal. Basically, it is a cup of oatmeal filled with super foods like Chia seeds, Flax seeds, coconut oil, almonds, bananas, cocoa powder, almond milk etc.
8:30- Charlotte leaves for work and Colt lays on my bed with his toys while I get ready for the day.
9:00- Colt eats his morning bottle and I rock him to sleep for his morning nap, which usually lasts about an hour.
9:15-10:15- I do the breakfast dishes, wipe off the counters, and start any laundry that needs done. I usually do one or two loads a day, between my clothes, my blankets, Colt's clothes, and Colt's diapers. (Colt is cloth diapered, which is super good for him and super good for the environment!!)
10:30- By now, Colt is almost always awake. So, we usually do a late morning activity. Sometimes we go for a walk, other times we sit outside, or we hang out in his room and work on his motor skills.
11:30- Colt is usually ready for his next bottle. So, we find a good show on Netflix and hang out while he eats.
12:00- Colt plays in his bouncer or on his mat, while I make lunch.
1:00- After lunch, I clean up, which consists of doing lunch dishes, sweeping the kitchen floor, and switching around laundry. Most days, I wear Colt around in his wrap, or carry him, while I do this, but some days he will be content with sitting in his swing and watching.
2:00- Colt takes his afternoon nap, which is typically pretty long. After he falls asleep, I start getting things ready for dinner. My goal is to have everything ready so that, when Charlotte and Matt are on their way home, I can just stick it in the oven.
3:00- Colt is still asleep, so I find a documentary on Netflix and curl up on the couch with him. Usually I stay awake, but some days (like today) I take a little nap with him.
4:00- Colt wakes up around now, and is ready for a bottle. He usually eats about 4 ounces and then is ready to play!
4:30- I finish up laundry, and determine what laundry I need to do the next day.
5:30- I stick dinner in the oven and make sure Colt is well fed and clean for when his Mommy and Daddy get home!
6:00- We all have dinner.
6:30- I get ready to work-out. On M/W/F I go to the gym, and on T/H I go for a walk down our road. I would probably go to the gym every night, but it is about a half an hour away.
7:30- On M/W/F I am still at the gym, but every other night we have our favorite dessert, "banana ice cream." It is actually not ice cream at all and it is amazing. We take frozen bananas and blend them with cocoa powder and almond milk, and top it with whipped cream. The whole thing is around 150 calories, and tastes like a frosty combined with a banana split.
9:00- I take a shower and get ready for bed.
10:00- Bed Time!
I should probably include the fact that weekends here are really awesome! Every other weekend we go to Cary, which is right outside of Raleigh, and we go grocery shopping at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, and then we go out to lunch. Every weekend we get Starbucks at least once. Oh, and I get to sleep in until however late I want, even though I'm usually up by 7:30!
These days are filled with great people, which makes the melancholy that can come with rigid routine basically nonexistent. Colt is learning new things every day, and when he wakes up in the morning and smiles at me, I know that it is going to be a great day!

So much has happened.
Earlier today I was sitting here and it hit me that I haven't updated this blog in months. I moved out of my parents house and into my cousin's house in North Carolina, about two weeks after graduation. Since then, so many things have happened... so I thought I would share. The purpose of the blog is basically to help me remember the things that go on in my life. So, excuse me if this isn't very well written, I just need to get it down so I don't forget everything!
1. I moved to Linden, North Carolina (Right outside of Fayetteville and right next to Ft. Bragg), where I live with my cousin Charlotte, her husband Matt, and their new baby boy Colt James. Oh, and their black lab named Bella!
2. A week later, Charlotte took Colt and I on our very first trip to the ocean. We stayed at Myrtle Beach over Memorial Day weekend. It was kind of rough with a three week old baby, but it was a lot of fun!
3. I took my first trip in an air plane, when I flew back home to Ohio for my yearly family vacation to Geneva-On-The-Lake! It was really great to see my family again, and was made even more fun when my best friends Megan and Gina came for the weekend! After they left, I spent a ton of time with my cousin Michele and her kids, Drake and Darr, and I did my very first bar crawl. It really was a great trip! But, I missed Colt a lot and was happy to come home to him.
4. I joined a gym! It is called For Women Only, and it is a great escape from every day life. It is really the only time I get completely to myself, so I enjoy the time I have to get a good workout!
5. I bought a car! It is a 2005 Chevy Cavalier, and I love it! I haven't been able to get it registered yet, because first I had to get a North Carolina drivers license, which came in the mail yesterday. So, by Monday it should be good to go!
I know there are a lot of other things that have happened, but I cant really think right now! I have met so many great people here and I am really starting to feel at home! I have a lot of plans for my future, and I am excited that this it the place that I am going to make those plans happen!
